Who We Are
Ortochem was created to fill a specific gap in the European market: water treatment professionals — municipal operators, industrial facilities, and pool contractors — need a supplier who understands their chemistry, their regulations, and their operational reality. Not a general chemical distributor who happens to list water treatment products alongside thousands of unrelated items.
We supply the water treatment sector exclusively. That focus is deliberate. It means every product we carry, every supplier we work with, and every piece of technical guidance we offer is specific to your industry — not repurposed from somewhere else.
Our enquiry-based model exists because water treatment is not a commodity purchase. The right chemical depends on your water chemistry, your process, your discharge limits, and your regulatory obligations. We engage with each customer individually to ensure the product match is correct before anything is ordered.
Supply Standards
In water treatment, the consequences of using the wrong product — or the right product from the wrong source — can affect public health, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity. That is why Ortochem has a non-negotiable sourcing standard: every manufacturer we work with must hold third-party certification for quality and environmental management.
All manufacturers we source from hold ISO 9001:2015 certification. This means consistent production processes, documented quality controls, and full traceability from raw material to finished product. For water treatment applications, this is not optional — it is the baseline.
REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) is the EU framework for the registration, evaluation, authorisation, and restriction of chemical substances. Every chemical we supply is REACH-registered, with a current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) available. This protects your operation from regulatory risk and ensures you are never handling an unregistered or restricted substance.
Directive (EU) 2020/2184 sets strict requirements for chemicals used in the treatment of water intended for human consumption. Substances must not migrate into drinking water above safe limits, and must not adversely affect water quality. All potable water treatment chemicals we supply are verified compliant with this directive — so your treatment process protects public health, not just passes audit.
