Ortochem supplies chemicals with full REACH documentation and CE-marked equipment for wastewater treatment, drinking water treatment, and swimming pool water treatment across the European Union.
Who We Are
Ortochem was created to fill a specific gap in the European market. Water treatment professionals, from municipal operators and industrial facilities to pool contractors, need a supplier who understands their chemistry, their regulations, and their operational reality. They don’t need a general chemical distributor that happens to list water treatment products alongside thousands of unrelated items.
Ortochem is run by chemical engineers with a background in water chemistry, laboratory analysis and quality systems. Every enquiry is handled by someone who understands the technical side, from sampling and measurement to compliance documentation.
We supply the water treatment sector exclusively, and that focus is deliberate. Every product we carry, every supplier we work with, and every piece of technical guidance we offer is specific to your industry, not repurposed from somewhere else.
Our enquiry-based model exists because water treatment is not a commodity purchase. The right chemical depends on your water chemistry, your process, your discharge limits, and your regulatory obligations. We work with each customer individually to make sure the product is the right match before anything is ordered.
Supply Standards
In water treatment, using the wrong product, or the right product from the wrong source, can affect public health, regulatory compliance and operational continuity. That is why Ortochem sources only from established manufacturers who can document the quality and compliance of what they produce.
We work with manufacturers who hold ISO 9001 certification. That means consistent production processes, documented quality controls, and traceability from raw material to finished product. For water treatment applications, we treat this as the baseline, not an extra.
REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) is the EU framework for the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemical substances. We verify the REACH status of the chemicals we offer and provide current Safety Data Sheets (SDS), in the local language where required. This helps protect your operation from regulatory risk.
Directive (EU) 2020/2184 sets strict requirements for chemicals used to treat water intended for human consumption. Substances must not migrate into drinking water above safe limits and must not harm water quality. For potable water applications, we supply products whose manufacturers document compliance with the applicable requirements, and we provide that documentation on request.
